Day 6 – mirror meditation

At 8.41pm I suddenly realise, “shit I haven’t meditated!” after a full day of work and finally getting home so hungry that all I cared about was dinner.
I put my wine glass down and run upstairs only to find that all I want to do is close my eyes. To sleep.

So I keep my eyes open and do my least favourite of meditations: the mirror meditation. I sit in front of the mirror and look into my own eyes. The first time I did this I found it difficult, confronting and strange. I had never realised that I never really see myself in the mirror. I mean, I look at myself every day to wash my face, brush my teeth, do makeup, but how often does anyone really look in their own eyes? It’s intimate and confronting. And after ten minutes I give myself a smile, a wave and quietly get up.

There is no doubt that morning meditations suit me better. I can’t seem to get into the same head space after a full day and then suddenly realising that meditation is just something I need to fit in at the last minute. But this is all just part of the learning process, an important part of the 365 Bliss journey.

Tomorrow will be better.

Morning meditation (between 3-6am) is considered to be the best as the spiritual energy is at its highest – so no wonder people find that easier! Good luck and all the best with your practice!
    Happy new year 🙂
